...some thing new from Eliza....

A sweet treat of a new book is on the shelf...
Congrats to Christie Jones Ray on her new title...
Eliza at Rose Water Cottage

Grammy and Eliza prepare for a move to a tiny Victorian, Rose Water Cottage. How will she fit in, in the city, after living in the country. Grammy eases her anxious mind, and says, "You may be a Cottage Mouse. We will have a garden of lovely flowers, enjoy our tea sets and tea parties...and All will be Well."

I love to peek at artists while they work...
Christie's illustration, calligraphy and
story telling just send me...

She's a true friend and that makes it even more wonderful to be a part of her artful business journey...
Stay tuned to hear more about Christie and
her Eliza the Mouse...I love them both!
...more titles are in work featuring an ever enlarging cast of characters from the
heart and mind of Christie...

You'll meet
"Sugarlump" a wee mohair party pup
created by Letty Worley...
"Rosebud" a middie Blythe custom dollie
AND Lula Kate (stay tuned for many images)
a sweet Blythe from Italy created by Cecilia Fioravanti of Jolly Roger Dolls...

I love that Christie invites us into her world and shares her style...

Thanks Christie for doing what you do...
it's a treat to work with you!

You can find all of Christie's books and creations

...so little and SOOOO BIG...Welcome Christie Jones Ray

Eliza the Mouse is a tiny little friend
from Rose Water Cottage in Franklin, TN
She is small and sweet, but she has some very big stories to share with all of us...

But it's a very big deal that Christie Jones Ray -- her creator -- has joined the ranks of our Earth Angels Featured Artists...

Welcome Christie!!
xxoo
Christie is an exuberant and sweet, author/illustrator I met just more than a year ago in Round Top, TX...
She has a dozen books celebrating the adventures of her Eliza the Mouse and her friends Sugar Lump, Baby Mouse and Rosebud...
Her work is lovely and gentle...
it makes me want to pause to celebrate the little things, the everyday things, that add kindness and beauty to your days...
Welcome Christie...
You can see her creations HERE

Each book is laden with lush illustrations and Christie's artful calligraphy...

 ...my current favorite title...
 ...but I love them all...

And I will be sharing more news on Christie's expanding adventures with
Eliza AND with Earth Angels...

It's both an honor and a pleasure to do business with Christie and to celebrate her story and style!

hello Monday...Hello HUDSON! Hello Mercantile and Hello Fab BOOK!

...hello Monday.

Sometimes it does take me some time to get around
to sharing a peek at something special...
Things move quickly around here, and I can hardly believe it's been a few weeks since the exciting book signing at the Hudson Mercantile for Mary Randolph Carter's fab new book Never Stop to Think...Do I Have a Place for This...

Total wowness as it explores the homes and hearts of 17 amazing collectors...among them my friends
painter, Jennifer Lanne and antique dealer & designer, Stephanie Lloyd
I am totally smitten with the book,
and I am ready to move into the homes and among the objects it shares...

Here's a peek at the You-Tube video Carter did to showcase her new book...and after you've had a gander...you can click here to buy the book from Rizzoli.

Hello to wonderful things...

Here are a few shots from the new Hudson Mercantile.
The book signing event was hosted among its treasures from
Stephanie and some truly love paintings by Jennifer...

Hello to new ideas for old things...

Hello cool old car sign...
Hello to the odd and wonderful...
Hello pillow, I think I love you...
 Hello sunshine on cool stuff...
Hello and ROAR...I love old cement animals.
Hello tribe of hens and chicks...
 Hello to lucky shutters....
Hello to anything funky en masse...
 Hello wonderful petite landscapes...

 Hello Monday...

Hello to having a place for anything you love...

Hello to new friends and old and hello to sharing them all...
they are the best of collections.

Hello to the  The Hudson Mercantile and go visit soon!
I am taking Kathy up this week and I cannot wait...
...more soon on that!

say hello to something sweet

Hello new week, there's a pile of paperwork here, writing deadlines, projects to finish and all I want to do is bake and nest.
It's the time of year I want to feather my nest, move things around in our home and in general just refresh the indoors.
 ...sigh...
But, it's chilly and dreary and there's time you just need a little something sweet to get you through your week...
So hello to "pie*ography" and a whole lotta sweet.
Hello to Jo Packham brilliant concept of "pie" meets "biography"...I love this lady and how her brain works. Her newest book is an utter treat...and I loved working with her on it...
(Last March I blogged about this special project and new book ...well it's all cooked up and on the shelves...)

So hello to getting things done! And done the way that feels right to me...

Hello to to some shots from our "Iron Skillet Banana Pie" shoot on another chilly day last winter when the work on the book started...you take 10 pics to get the one that's "right" to print, but I loved them all...

Hello to enjoying the little things that get me through my week. And trusting my own taste when it comes to what I like...

Hello to looking at things a little differently this year. It's only mid-January, but I already feel I am working smarter on some projects, I tend to work a lot, all the time, and I have to be better about taking time out -- so far - so good!

Hello to me...This was the image they wanted to use in the book....

But I asked Jo to use this instead! So hello to being real, and real fun...

Hello to good friends and working on projects together to make them happen...this week it's all hands on deck - we're calling in the troops to get the Vintage section of the website in gear (Oliver this means you!)
Hello Krys and Debbee and Katie and Nancy and Michele too...I love that you've been included among the 40 women in the book...each listing has a 2 page story of the pie and the person and how the pie is the biography....so cool.

Hello to new ideas...new recipes and new projects too...
...I am making Krys' carrot pie today...

Hello to knowing what you love and doing it, in life, in work and yes, in the kitchen too.

...hello bedtime reading, one of my favorite times of the day...
From the first page, it's delish.
Hello to you week, I'm going to make the most of you...
What are you all up to this week? Hope it's full of some sweet moments, good books and good eats too...
xxoo Jen
...Where Pie Meets Biography....authored by Jo Packham, pie*ography is a new design for story telling. It's all about using ingredients to tell the story of someone's life and to share it not only with sight, but also with the taste and smell as well. Savory and hearty, simple and sweet, or messy and gooey, these pages tell women's stories through more than just words. This fab book features Earth Angels' founder & owner Jen O'Connor, as well as the "pies" of 41 other Extraordinary Women including Earth Angels' artists Krys Kirkpatrick and Debbee Thibault and special friends Katie Camarro and Michele Muska among others. Hardcover, full color and 175 pages.
