...this is happening...TOKYO...Blythecon Fashion Tour....

 This is happening...WOW
It's been a dream to go to Tokyo for so many years...
and now thanks to my little 12" plastic friend I like to take everywhere I go...
and a whole lotta wonderful friends and fellow Blythe fans in the Dolly Community....
it's happening...
(thanks to Linda Holland of Lounging Linda for this photo...)

I will be fitting lots of tiny Vintage Toys, Handmade Teds & Friends for Blythe, lace for dolls' dressmaking, vintage toy vehicles, wee antique books and more surprises in the suitcases!
All details on tickets and event format are available on

I am excited to participate and honored to be among such a talented group of Vendors...

And a huge thanks in advance to all for making this opportunity possible... the organizers, the many artists with whom I work, my friends and most of all -- Rosanna De Bellis -- for the gift of my beloved Darcy -- my first custom Blythe -- that had me fall in love all over again with my dolls, teds and toys...

 ... #workhardplayhard  ...
LOL -- of course when your work is toys this is perhaps a bit easier!
Keep an eye on your email and the
facebook insiders' group for more info and sneak peeks...

one of my fave things I've done this year... meet The Spirited Stitch Workshop Women

One of my very favorite things I have done this year is photograph the SPIRITED STITCH workshop of  Elizabeth Duke & Nicolisa West
-- featured in the Where Women Create issue
celebrating Mindful Studios -- a must read!

My work for Where Women Create varies... but the best part is being a storyteller...being able to step into something and see that what's going on needs to be celebrated widely for its beauty, its gifts to those that partake, and it's inspiration quotient!

These women are inspiring, creative and utterly genuine... I was so grateful to connect with them...

You can read more about them in the current issue...but here are some of my fave chunks of the article...and lots of the captures that did not make the pages

Elizabeth Duke and Nicolisa West of Fairfield, CT will tell you that it was destiny that brought them together when they connected years ago at Nicolisa’s mindfulness meditation session at “Terrain,” her then workplace. It was instant karma for these creative women! A blending of kindred spirits, weaving and connecting in a way that would allow them to form a friendship and then to work together through their Spirited Stitch workshop retreats.

Nicolisa, a Registered Nurse, and Elizabeth, a long time sewing teacher, make a powerful team, sharing their uniquely matched creative talents to inspire other women to make art as part of their wellness journey.
We both love how mindfulness, meditation and slow stitching are so portable: you can take them wherever you go!  We often tell our students about the book by Jon Kabat Zinn, Wherever You Go, There You Are, and how it supports this belief.
It’s our hope that through the sharing of our talents and skills, we can create stillness and inspiration for other women. We want women to feel inspired and confident to continue their creative and wellness journeys on their own, wherever they are, stitch by stich, breath by breath.
Elizabeth:  While much of my work has been published in trade magazines and has placed in national competitions in garment making and wearable art, it’s the things I stitch for pleasure that hold the joy of all my years of teaching and reflection.
Nicolisa: I want women to Pause.  A Pause can help ease the mind, bring clarity and lead to inspiration for the creative in each of us.

Monday, July 8, 2019 TOY STORY...

...I am forever tagging my Instagram posts of toys #workhardplayhard

I suppose the bottom line is,
I love to play. I love toys...

I don't think there's a room in my house where there isn't a doll or teddy bear.

...this capture of me from the recent Blythe Con where I presented a showcase of toys and handmade from Earth Angels Studios
(photo cred to Linda Holland with xxoo)

I can remember my kids playing with MY toys and me playing with theirs... and while I was always a dolly girl, my one daughter could never stand them -- she always wanted to play with little animal figures or stuffies.
One of my sons loved anything with wheels...the other played only with action figures.
Toys spark the imagination, they remind me of happy childhood memories and they make me feel young at heart...

They say for children play is their's how they learn.  Well, for me, play might still be my work... #ilovemyjob

These are some new offerings I've just posted to the site...there are indeed so many I will just include a very few here... click this to see them all
(Doremi doll on left and below available at Kamino Collectibles...
other items available at Earth Angels Studios)

Enjoy a peek and hope that you can find some playtime in your day... can find the toys and vintage goodies -- may fun for Blythe -- on these pages of my site

Monday, July 1, 2019 our newest Earth Angel...Emma of Skippy Cotton

Across my 25 years in the business of handmade, I've learned it's still a rare and beautiful thing to watch an artist work in their studio...

When someone works where they live, their space has an even deeper texture... another layer of living and collecting to absorb their
inspiration and their aesthetic.

I was just in the home and studio of Emma Mierop of Skippy Cotton... we've begin to work together to present her machine embroidery creations to a wider audience...and it was a thrill to experience her style in action...

A few peeks at her home are below...
AND  you will find more peeks at her studio in an upcoming issue of

I love everthing she creates...and I have a much deeper appreciation for her inspiration now that I have been in her charming home and among her collections...

thank you Emma for sharing your
style and your talent...
xo Jen

You can see more of her work
