...this is so exciting...

Our first event of the year is in the works
...and coming up soon...
We'll be off to London in just a few weeks for the renown -- HUGGLET'S WINTER BEAR FEST....

In the world of teddy bears and soft sculpture, this is among the very best of shows and I am simply honored to participate...
I'll be there with SPECIAL GUEST and featured artist,  (drum roll please....) LETTY WORLEY!

I have worked with Letty for many years, and I love that she's still pushing herself to create new, fabulous and different designs...there's no resting on the laurels for this talented artist...

It's a true treat that she'll be able to appear at this event with a special showcase of her work.
If you need sneak peeks or cannot make it to London...email me!

Letty and I will be sure to post to social media about the event...and while where across the pond, we'll be doing several photo shoots for Where Women Create magazine...so stay tuned!

Rumor has it Ilaria Giostrella AND Rosanna De Bellis will be joining us too. Stay tuned for more...

xo and thanks in advance to the show promoters and Letty for the opportunity to attend!

Do you know Blythe?

Blythe is a doll that may look familiar to some.

This doe-eyed lovely was originally made for just one year by Kenner in the US in 1972.  How do I know this....

I HAD BLYTHE WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL AND I LOVED HER THEN!!!!
But in the mid to late 1990s, a well-known fashion photographer, Gina Garan, began to take one of these dolls with her everywhere and photograph her.  Blythe was the subject of many photographic studies. This was of course long-before social media, and when she released a book of her work showing Blythe in all these fun setting, a cult phenomenon was born!
By 2001 the Japanese company of Takara resuscitated production of Blythe and by 2006 another book on Blythe – redressed and re-fitted in inspiring fashions by quite famous designers came out.

The real magic began to happen for two reasons: #1 artists around the world started to customize Blythe – re-sculpting the face, changing wigs, painting eye-chips and making miniature couture fashions for this wonderful little model AND #2 the emergence of visual social media platforms.  So, everything went crazy and this little cult classic of a doll became and indie art phenomenon with BlytheCons and established and fledgling artists turning their attention to Blythe.

Now artists are putting their own twist on Blythe and customizing dolls...changing the face makeup, the hair, carving and re-carving the nose, chin, philtrum and eye sockets...and more!

And what's so wonderful is that the new Blythe world has spawned many ancillary hobbies and creatives to create for Blythe...just like our own Earth Angels Letty Worley making Blythe party pets -- because every doll needs a best friend!!!

If you are interested in a custom Blythe...please email me at jen@EarthAngelsStudios.com and I will send you full details....

We are working with renown artist to accept commissions and will be making this service available as her time allows...
STAY TUNED FOR MORE NEWS
ON THIS OR EMAIL ME!!!

...and thanks to Mademoiselle Cupcake -- aka Rosanna De Bellis my soul sister for bringing the festive world of Blythe to Earth Angels...

hello Monday and HELLO BUSINESS STAR!!

I am so tickled...

Hello Monday...and what a wonderful week you will be.
I am so very proud to share this news...

Letty Worley...my wonderful friend and uber talented soft sculpture artist of EarthAngelsStudios.com is featured in the
10 PAGES!!!
Total wow...here's just a peek...you need to get the mag for the complete story on how Letty...how she started, failed, started again and how with determination and effort, she has persevered and
truly come into her own with her art and inimitable style.

It all happened because Jo Packham, Letty and myself had a quiet breakfast in Texas this spring when we were guests of Holly Kuhn at the grand opening of her new "Old Glory" store in Burton during Round Top's Spring Antiques Week.

Letty had a chance to tell Jo her story, and Jo knew that this was a story that had to be told to her readers.

Hello happy timing and networking and wonderful women who share.

Hello to imagination and style...Letty you have got them both!

Hello to celebrating the small joys of the everyday...Letty you have taught so many of us that a cupcake can keep you going
even when the going gets pretty darn tough!

Hello to hard work and late nights, long hours and much effort...
it's so wonderful when these are rewarded.

Hello week...you are going to be a busy one...hope you're rootin' for me...
the list of to-dos is about a mile long.

Hello to 8th grader's history project all over the table.

Hello pumpkin spice EVERYTHING!

Hello to all of you and what are you up to this week...
leave some hellos in the comments section...

I'm a Romantic!

I am completely honored that the editors of Romantic Homes (thanks Meryl and Jacqueline!!)
invited me to submit for their annual
"Romantics Issue" where they feature women entrepreneurs...designers...artists...adventurers...
who epitomize the "romantic lifestyle"
so appreciated by their readers...
This arrived in the mailbox yesterday...
What I wrote comes from my heart and I hope you will seek out the issue to share it...

"As a romantic, I find beauty in the color and texture of everyday life.  I then work to share what I see with an enthusiasm that’s infectious.  It’s a choice to see the possibility of each day…perhaps it comes from a willingness to believe in serendipity and all the meanderings of imagination."

....a whole lot more and then...

"In business I cannot help but share my passion for handmade. Something that comes from the hands, comes from the heart; I have built my business sharing the talents of other romantic and inspiring women who create the most beautiful folk art.
Everyday, I make time for beauty. I look for the lovely and let it feed my soul."

In the spread you'll see me, and what makes me tick, and I love that some of my fave artists are included in the images too...Jill Schwartz, Juile Arkell, Letty Worley, Lisa Leonard,
Jennifer Lanne and Karin byDesign.
This new issue is a true delight...so many great women included...so many heartfelt ideas
and notions to warm winter and roll us toward Valentine's Day...

Thanks again to those that made this feature possible. I am thrilled.
xxoo Jen
