...a dolls' dressmaker...peek into her world

I totally adore Hilary Wagstaff and all that she creates...

 ...so what a true treat for me to dedicate my column to her in the latest issue of Where Women Create  

that's JUST hit the newsstands...

 Hilary has a 

finely tuned personal style... 

the clothing she creates for Blythe dolls shows that she's at the top of her craft -- with an aesthetic that makes her creations clearly identifiable as her art.  

Her story and style were a natural match for my 

"Business of the Studio" column...

 

...her wee fashions send me...

tiny embroidered details, finely fitting frocks.... but above all that...Hilary has a wonderful story of her business and how it happened...

how fab that she's shared her story!

Dolly Treasures! A total wow and congrats to Eileen Lam!!!

We'll be doing an artful shopping pop-up --

 We've done several events and appearances over the years with Nancy, and each one has been quite special...

Nancy has amazing talent and style, and we like working together to celebrate the 

style of artists we admire...

These artists -- and more -- will prepare a group of art and handmade to present to attendees for their browsing and shopping pleasure....

 ...while the shopping event is FREE, there is a fee associated with the limited space BRUNCH and Entrepreneurs' chat with Jen O'Connor.

a peek at BlytheCon UK....

I made a quick but memorable, 3-day trip to Edinburgh earlier this month...

With the studio of Scottish jewelry designer, Lynsey Walters for my column in "Where Women Create" on the agenda (and more on that soon) I was also able to attend BlytheCon UK...

...all I can say is...WOW!

Capturing such a dynamic event was a challenge...and while I have oodles of images to edit and share, the format and personalities were all new to me...but a peek at an event like this one must be shared in a timely fashion.

So I am thrilled to share a collection of images prepared by writer, editor and photographer -- and Blythe devotee -- Rosanna De Bellis.

Many thanks Rosanna for the opportunity to share your signature-style collages...I appreciate you being a guest blogger/photographer and allowing me to give a peek into this wonderful world that you've invited me into with open arms and much beautiful enthusiasm...

 I was truly overwhelmed...

 There was a vast array of talent and styles showcased by the designers and artists who shared their art at the event...

Incredible...and yes, I could not help myself, I had to get some new outfits for my own Blythe doll...

 Some folks' have a dedication that goes far beyond the miniature fashions and customized art dolls!

I really enjoyed everyone I met...from the sales floor to the Voo Doo Rooms after party - there was talent and style and many friendships to be found...

Thanks to all for the warm welcome into this artful community.

nice to see Jody and her FUNTOWN in the NEWS!!!

 Jody Battaglia has been in my heart for many years...
and her creations fill my cupboards with their charm...I adore them...
such wonderful little characters that spring to life in cotton and felt 
-- straight from her incredible imagination....

Country Living Fair this past April. She made the event so much more fun and it was a treat to have her there to promote her work

Jody has an inimitable style and truly festive spirit.
