I love that I was able to feature the so well-deserving Petersen Family & Wee Forest Folk in my column "The Business of the Studio" in this issue of Where Women Create magazine...

 

I think it's incredible to still be an artful soul in old age, and to think and move creatively in business...

This was a special day...I went to shoot the story and found so much more...

 It's impossible not to fall in love with 97 year old founder, Annette Petersen when you encounter her, sitting and working with her was an incredible experience...

 Her family is everything and they create together...

three generations of artists with one vision...

I appreciate them all...Willy, Donna, Bonnie...

It's even more impossible not to fall in love with all they create....by hand...in Massachusetts...

...3 generations making art together..this send me

...the idea of three generations of hands working together to make art truly sends me...

I wanted to share the exciting news that Bonnie Petersen -- grand daughter to artist Annette the founder of Wee Forest Folk and daughter to Willy Petersen -- has just returned from California and begun to work and design 

for her family's 44 year old studio business.

 

Bonnie's debut collection...called 

"The Confection Collection"

was announced just last week and it is truly charming

...welcome aboard to The Petersen Family & Wee Forest Folk

a sweet welcome to Wee Forest Folk...

After admiring their charming -- and oh so tiny work --  for many, many years,

 I am just tickled to announce that Earth Angels Studios is now presenting the mice miniatures of The Petersen Family...

 The company was begun in 1972 by founder, Annette Petersen, and is continued today with the support and talents of her children, Donna & Willy.

I cannot wait to meet them all when I visit their "mouse factory" to photo it for my column in Where Women Create magazine...we'll be meeting and chatting about the business of their studio and how they have maintained their artful business and incredible style for more than four decades...

 

Each of their pieces is a small joy...

 The attention to detail is just amazing to me...

...above all, their winter-time and Christmas sculpts just send me...

I have a small collection of various handmade and vintage mini Santa Claus pieces tucked among the pottery in a cabinet in my dining room... 

I have a few WFF that I have picked up along the way and I treasure them...
