must go: Jack's Barn!

You need to get to "Jack's Barn"...You won't meet Jack...he was the former owner of this amazing structure...But you will meet Chris and Darren.
These fellas are the current owners and they have spent 18 months re-furbishing the space and sharing it with the public. Long dormant as a storage space and chock full with vintage goodies and antiques collected by Jack, Chris and Darren have now opened it as a multi-dealer shop with gobs of fun stuffs and some still un-refurbished space that they will let you search through in search of something great...

My wonderful friend Sue Parker of Skippy Doodle Designs (hopefully many of you have met the amazing Sue at our events) is big sister to Chris and #1 cheerleader to Jack's Barn...Sue invited us down to show us around, and with camera in hand we had a wonderful prowl about...

I came home with goodies galore and the taste for more time there...look at what we found...

Thanks go to Allie too, she made the trip more fun and kept the kids happy on a hot, hot day...
Here are her fave finds...Allie is a super teen, with great taste and personal style!

HATS OFF!!! to Chris and Darren!!!

..and all the very best to them as they further renovate this space...and please put it on you place of spots to visit in your antique touring and junking jaunts...I will be back there soon on my regular rounds in search of great vintage loot and I look forward to seeing them and their wonderful place!

You just gotta get to the barn...

SEE THEIR SITE for a list of their special events...they do a wonderful series of tent sales and flea markets and car shows on their grounds....catch one!

Thanks to Sue for sharing her wonderful world with me...we'll be posting soon on more artful adventures with her in Connecticut....

something new to love - RED CHAIR on Warren

...if the red child's chair hanging from the building isn't enough to stop you in your tracks and make you step inside Jocie Sinauer's new store "Red Chair" on Warren Street in Hudson, NY then you clearly need to get your priorities straight!

Her shop begs a sigh upon entering; it's just so PRETTY. Two steps in and I was breathing deeply, my heart was racing, and I had the fervent hope of taking in all there was to wonder at....(with four kids in tow I already knew I would have to make another jaunt to Hudson and this shop when I could really browse around).

Jocie's shop tells her story of vintage loves...linen, worn wood, hotel silver, grain sacks, antique French and Belgian finds...and so very much more...

Take a look at these images....her wares are all lovely and the displays are often so layered, they're almost fragrant in their texture. Decorative deliciousness everywhere....

I was smitten with so many things...chairs, ironstone pretties...

Dishy little displays abound...

And the linens are in lush piles so thick, they ask to be touched and appreciated for their simply beauty...

Sweet sachets are tied in her signature bundles and simply everywhere...

Jocie is a seasoned retailer, she opened her first store in 1997 and recently moved from New Hampshire to open this glorious locale...she has a keen eye and knows what she loves. I simply cannot wait to see what she has up her sleeve on my next trip to Hudson...

Jocie, congrats on your new store! You deserve the very best of success in your endeavors...

I am so glad Ken and Steph had us wander your way and I will be in to see you soon...and I will bring the tripod and wide angle lens to get some more shots to share!
Can you tell we had fun...

AND What great loot we hauled home...

Here's to Red Chair...and do get there to see this fab place for yourself...
