Art and the Celery City...

Sanford, FL has to be one of my new fave places...on the planet. Incidentally, if you like celery, you have Sanford to thank for it, but that's another story for antoher day.

Sanford is a small town with a big history...it's Old Florida with a new energy and it plays host to a downtown that has come back to life thanks to a thriving arts community much spearheaded by the Jeanine Taylor Folk Art Gallery...and on top of all that, it welcomed the Earth Angels and the Art Girls' RoadShow for out 5th Annual "heART of winter" last weekend. And my, was it a wonderful event...

Those of you who made the trip know what a special weekend we shared...and to those of you that could not...we missed you (but there will be a next time)! There's oodles of images below...

Many thanks to Jeanine Taylor of the Jeanine Taylor Folk Art Gallery and her business partner Robin Marks, her husband Howard Marks and of course Mary Shaw -- gallery manager -- for making it all a wonderful experience and a huge success for all involved.

And thanks to my wonderful folks, Jim and Rosie, who made the trip to join in the fun, to Linda our#1 cheerleader and to Marie, who made it just work!

Thanks too, to Jane Dagmi for making the trip and taking it all in...

And a heartfelt thanks to participating artists Magda Trzaski, Deirdre Friebely, Diana Card, Melody Elizabeth Doyel, Debbee Thibault, Laurie Meseroll and Jennifer Lanne. Each of these talented women created work for the event and I was overwhelmed once again. Stay tuned for sneak peeks of their latest creations via our e-mail newsletters, facebook and this blog...

SOOOOO be sure to mark your calendar for 3/2 and 3/3 when we will next visit...plans are already in the works!

xxoo Jen

How did I miss this event??? I live in Fort Lauderdale! It would have been only 3-4 hours and it looks like it would have been well worth it!! I need to get on the mailing list so I don't miss it next year. In the mean time... maybe Atlanta for the "Country Living Show" in October???? Sign me up!!
