..yes, she makes the world's best hot fudge...

It's true. Katie Cammaro makes the world's best hot fudge. Her grandma inspired her love of chocolate and the every day celebrations good food can make more special. A long-time friend to Earth Angels' painter, Jennifer Lanne, I was introduced to Katie and her amazing hot fudge a few years back and it's been as many years that I have been a fan of her fabulous "Sundae's Best"...
Lucky me, I got to shoot Katie in her kitchen for an upcoming feature in Where Women Cook...ohhh ahhh yum yum...her home and kitchen were as divine as the ice cream stuffed pound cake she made for the shoot.

Here is a sneak peek, but you'll have to wiat for Issue #3 to see all to glorious food shots...

After lunch, Katie gave us a quick tour of her factory. It's a funky space, that suits her perfectly; it used to be an old time luncheonette!

You can see all her flavors on her site...
Thanks again, Katie for a fab experience, I confess I would write more, but there is ice cream in the freezer and hot fudge waiting...

So, is this a romantic life?

...I guess I am a romantic after all.
"Romantic Homes" magazine's February issue has just hit the newsstands with its annual feature, and one of my perennial faves, "The Romantics"...

I was asked to submit for this feature this year...and while at first I didn't think I led a "romantic life"...upon reflection, I came up with a story of adventure that conveys my ideals of romance, and my own brand of a romantic lifestyle .

I should mention that, you'll only be disappointed if you expect tales of candlelit dinners or surprise gifts. I adore my husband, but this is not his style, our style.... he would rather we go for a hike or work on one of our old cars...I would rather we potter about the house or garden with the kiddos...

A big thanks to Jacqueline deMontravel for the opportunity to think about what romance really means to me, and the chance to share a peek into our home and world...

Please, please pick up this magazine if you are not already a subscriber. This current issue is more packed that ever with fab photos, heartwarming stories and a nod to the sweet romance of everyday joys.

Well done once again Romantic Homes! ...and here's to romance...and whatever it means to you.

...my heart's aflutter!

Oh be still my heart, I really am ever grateful to Joee and Dylan for working with me...Many of you know I loved them forever and long collected their art before they agreed to join my band of "Earth Angels". I'll never forget that call from Joee...

So what a super sweet treat to have a sneak peek at the limited edition offerings from "Cart Before the Horse" that are rolling this way for Valentine's day...

Joee and Dylan have done an utterly fab job on this grouping and they are offering just 9 of each for the season (...except that -- cute as a button -- heart ornie...that's an open edition and just begging to bedeck a tree...I digress, you now it's the tree "issue" thing...)

Anyway, prices start at $40 and they will be here soon...
Thanks again to Joee and Dylan for sharing their magic

Please note: Webmaster Paul is a little behind on updates to their page, yes, some of their offerings are sold out or retired...it's on his list of things to do...thanks for your patience.

...if you love your dog...

...you really need to read Julia Levitt's blog if you have a dog in your life. I call Julia the ""dog whisperer" of Ann Arbor, and well, she really is just that...as well as being a fab friend to Earth Angels, a great gal pal and a folk art aficionado!

I am actually pondering the thought of a canine invasion, but would only dare it if Julia lived around the corner to train me, and the dog through it!

Here is a link to her blog...which is a feature of the Ann Arbor Animal Hospital...

I am so thrilled she is sharing her know-how and thoughtful sentiments on raising a good dog as a member of your family.

Bravo Julia on the launch of your BLOG!

I love the Old & the New...

...Irrestible...and oh so darling, the old and the new from Sugarboo Designs...Rebecca Puig's art signs, driftwood sculptures, slatted wood pieces, art prints, and more...all laden with a rich sentiment that reflects the artist's love for her family and the beauty in the everyday world around us.

I am so thrilled to welcome her to Earth Angels... (this image was taken when we met at the New York Gift Fair)

And I love this pic of Rebecca with Jo Packham, too...

Here's what Rebecca says in her artist bio...

" Sugarboo is our family business that my husband, Rick and I started in 2005. In case you were wondering- “Sugarboo” came from a couple of nicknames I have for my children, Jake and Sophie. They are the main inspiration for Sugarboo because I always want to create products that remind us of the ones we love. Ever since I was a little thing I loved to paint and create things. I went to University of Georgia and graduated with a studio art degree. My inspirations are my family, nature, animals, old things, children's’ art and folk art. Also, I like interesting juxtapositions of old and new, soft and hard, sentimental mixed with modern. Sugarboo began with the photobox collection (which has it’s very own patent!) and we continue to evolve each year as we play and experiment with new ideas…so stay tuned!"

I love all that she creates...here's a peek at some of my very faves...(ALL are now available at Earth Angels...and a BIG thanks to Rebecca for working with me to bring you these fab creations!)...

...time is a funny thing...

I have given my fair share of moments to the meaning of time; I suppose I even ponder it in the few spare minutes I have each day...

Its passing, the waxing and waning of days that are magic, how some weeks seem more full than others. I wonder how time accumulates and then passes without me knowing; I only feel the wake of memory as I am tossed in the surf of seasons.

In the new year I want time for so many things. I want "time" to savor and enjoy "time" with the people I love most, time to grow, time to share and learn...I want time, more time...greedy me...and I face the realization I do have it. Each day, and what I choose make of it.

I found these clocks and this cabinet at Jack's Barn ...a fab shopping destination in Oxford, NJ. But how could I forget my camera when I went on that sweltering day last July -- how could I not bring it ?!? (...I need to dedicate a blog post to the wonders of this place...)

I loved each of them -- the clocks -- separate and even more together for all that they were, creamy and worn. Some were ticking some not, but I bought them all from Vicki, one of the wonderful dealers in this multi-dealer shop, along with the cabinet from owners Chris and Darren. (They gave me a wonderful deal and I promised them I would give their uber cute dolly cabinet a new life in my house.)

Funny, I brought them home and they sat...clocks and cabinet...for a long time...wrapped and waiting in the closet...until I remembered they were here.

I suppose that's how time is, until you figure out you have it, and you get to do what you want with it...
