The images above were taken at the NY International Gift Fair...the F.G.&Co. booth was a feast for the eyes...Laurie and I could barely tear ourselves away and had great fun picking out the delicacies to feature on the site...

Wilton Wonderland

I look forward to the Wilton show every year...of course there is always something fabulous about the show and it presents the rare chance for me to shop for my own collection. This year getting there almost topped the charts! We had two inches of snow and the drive over the mountains was not without drama, but all was worth it...

This is the face that greeted me in Stacey Bear's booth...

Here I am with Stacey next to -- what I think -- was the best piece in the show. I am thrilled to be the lucky one who got to take this painting home. It will hang in the living room...

yes, I will post images of it in it's new "spot"!

And so...
I snagged two amazing treasures for my personal collection...the amazing painting by Stacey and, a wonderful creamy bunny boy from Lori Ann that will make a perfect boyfriend to the girl she made for me that sits in my front hall. Yes, images to follow!

Debbie, Kim, Pat, Stacey and Diane also had some work set aside for me to present to Earth Angels customers. We will be photographing and posting their latest work in the next week or so...Thanks gals!

Once again Wilton was a wonderland. I am consistently amazed by the talent collected under one roof. Add this show to your calendar!

Ho, Ho, Ho is on the way...

Now that the jack o'lanterns have past their prime and the chipmunks have raided the piles of gourds and cornstalks on the front porch, I begin to think about pulling out the Christmas decorations...boxes and boxes of magic that sit waiting in the attic for me...

How did the year pass so quickly? My only consolation is that Christmas is such a wonderful treat...I look forward to celebrating it each year! Part of the festivities are my many bedecked trees (there were 11 last year) and for sure, Debbee’s exceptional hand blown glass ornaments and my collection of her Santas will be part of the décor this season once again…they cheer me and they bring me comfort like old friends.

She has outdone herself with the ornament collection for 2007. Each piece pays homage to traditional craftsmanship and old-world style. If you haven't seen them, do take a closer look. They are full of charm. They arrived from Debbee's studio in giant boxes earlier this week. As I unpacked them I started to think about the trees I will decorate this year and how to make the Christmas magic I crave...

I am starting this weekend!

For any of you who create and might just be interested in meeting other artists to network, please come by "Baby Grand Books" this Thursday from 6-8 pm for talks by Barry Plaxen of Hudson Valley Canvas and little old me.

We'll be taking a look at trends in the arts and the growth of the artist community in the Hudson Valley.

Priceless

So many ask, "How do you do it?"

...three little kids, 40 artists, events galore, thousands of customers, artwork coming in and out, idiosyncratic work habits, and a brain that functions best in controlled chaos....

So, how does Earth Angels happen?
...with the wonderful support of my family and friends and a crew of helpers whose efforts are priceless.

One very special person has just been here for a week...coordinating, organizing, cajoling the kids and, in between, whipping me into shape!

She flat out inspires me in her kindness, generosity of spirit, a sincere approach to hard work, and her love of beauty and order.

In fact, Shannon and Nancy are in awe of the new look of the desk and the storage room....not to mention the basement and the studio!

(...some of you know "basement clearance" is given to few, and taken by force by only the bravest like Jennifer Murphy and Cindy Palazzi who have raided and plundered it's boxes and shelves!)

Many of you know Michelle as the correspondence diva of Earth Angels, the "E-Mail Brain" maven, and the name that comes up when I crave support. She is an incredible woman, a fabulous true friend.

I remember meeting her about 10 years ago...I was in Atlanta at a doll convention...Just back from a visit to Jody Battaglia's home, I was clutching a paper bag with wonderful black woolen and felt kitty inside. When I pulled the little toy critter out to show doll artist Robert Tonner, the woman at his side gasped...she knew Jody's work and loved it. This common appreciation for art brought our spirits together.

Michelle shares her talents with me and the artists of Earth Angels. From all of us at Earth Angels, many thanks to you Michelle.

"It" simply would not be possible without your efforts.

Thanks to all who made such a fabulous day possible...so many helpers...Michelle, Bob, Jake, Jacob, David, Tasie, Mike, Nancy, Shannon and Ro! What a crew...so much work, so much fun...

Without you none of this would have been possible.

Hotcakes Made Me Do It!

Here, here I am goofing off again...Ro gave me a fabulous purse for my birthday (carried in photo above) and I just couldn't leave the ribbons on the box now could I? But the Hotcakes bee necklace and earrings make up

for the transgression I hope!

I love Caramia's fun and funky "Hotcakes Designs". In them she has seamlessly blended "fun" and "chic" into a light and fabulously wearable art form. Laden with curvaceous details and retro images, her chunky necklaces are a staple in my wardrobe. They are testimony to my love for nostalgia and pay homage to my obsession with colorful shapes. Her pieces are a perfect match to my omnipresent bangles.

Caramia has figured out how to tumble and aerate her plastic to take on a compelling lightness and clink...her pieces move and sound like my beloved Bakelite, her necklace are full some without being heavy, the the acrylics bubbles that encase her images are lush and lustrous and oh so yummy. Her rings are to be flashed about and kissed!

Truly, hotcakes made me do it. These designs make the days more fun. Thanks to Caramia and her playful style! We just posted a ton of new styles to the site...my favs are the new Christmas pins...I just might find one in my stocking this year...
