have you seen this...nice press in 2 of my fave mags

It a wonderful thing to share good news...

There are 2 nice features that I've just had published
in 2 of my fave magazines...

You see, in addition to running this business,
(and running around like a crazy person some days...)
I do a lot of editorial work on a lot of different magazines...
writing and or photographing about 25 pieces per year...
You can see all my PRESS here on the PRESS PAGE of the site.

But I also like to share the nice news via this BLOG...

Here's a peek at the piece I did on painter Jennifer Lanne in Flea Market Decor...

Congrats to Jennifer, it was a treat to celebrate her style.

And how fun is this...I photographed and wrote a piece for the Dutch magazine Daphne's Diary...on wonderfully talented Debrina Pratt.

...of course I cannot read this Dutch version...but I have seen the English proof and again, what a treat to be able to write and share images of the art and artists that inspire me.

A big thanks to the editors of these and all the magazines that come to me for contributions...it's a joy to be able to write and photo the artists of Earth Angels Studios and to have the opportunity to feature their style, talents and artistry...

Thanks for letting me share this nice news, and congrats to the artists on the well-deserved celebration of them!

The long anticipated opening of The Hudson Mercantile is hear...my friend Stephanie Lloyd has worked her magic in this renovated 7,500 square foot space in Hudson, NY...and my oh my it will be worth the trip...

Take a peek at Stephanie's blog post for some sneak peeks on this new space. She's got me drooling over cabinets, cupboards, hot air balloon baskets, big letters, small loot, ephemera and more...and

Hello Monday and Hello "Gatherings"

Hello Monday...
Are you ready for Spring??

I am...Spring is newness and all about what's fresh and happy to me.
And I am excited to be working with a new friend...

...it's wonderful too to share the news that "Gatherings" magazine Editor-in-Chief Heather Spriggs Thompson has invited me to be a regular contributor to her lovely and charming magazine. And thanks to Liz Hanley for the wonderful networking and friendship that has brought us together (...you all know Liz Loves Vintage and if you don't you should!)

If you are not familiar with this new publication...back in July of 2011 Heather launched Gatherings as a creative hobby. Now, Gatherings is composed of a creative team of contributing editors from the US, UK and The Netherlands featuring regular columns on food, vintage, interiors, crafts, styling and photography.

The Spring Issue- Artists + Artisans is released TODAY....
HELLO NEW ISSUE!!! (order here for FREE SHIPPING use code GATHERINGS)

...and I've invited Heather to be our guest blogger today...so HELLO HEATHER...
Here's what she has to say about her magazine...

Hello Earth Angels readers. It's such a pleasure to share with you my great labor of love. Gatherings Magazine was born out of my design blog, Gathering Spriggs. For my first issue, Summer 2011, I gathered stories from other bloggers and friends with the intention of using it as platform to share unrecognized creative talent, shops, and decor. Gatherings began as an digital only publication with a worldwide audience and has been featured on world-renown blogs like : Decor8, Lobster and Swan, Bright Bazaar and others. After having my son in April 2012, I had to make an important decision. Either I had to let go of Gatherings or dive in head first to turn this creative hobby into a business. So by September 2013,  I relaunched Gatherings Magazine with a new website, blog and for the first time offered printed editions. Knowing Gatherings couldn't survive as a solo project, I gathered a team of creative talent from across the globe including contributing editors from the United Kingdom, The Netherlands and the US featuring regular columns on food, vintage, interiors, crafts, styling and photography. Gatherings is an independent, home-grown magazine with a mission to provide beautiful inspiration for everyday living and encourage creative spirits.
I really believe in growing organically and living by the golden rule. I approach each issue and each collaboration by putting myself in the shoes of my readers and contributors. Along with editing, I also photograph, style and write articles each issue.

Now, with our Spring issue launching this week, we are excited to be partnering with so many creative organizations like Earth Angels Studios to help Gatherings grow into a nationally recognized print publication. In this issue we celebrate artists and artisans. With articles inspired by working artists, home + studio tours, and recipes bursting with the colors of a painter's palette, the pages of Spring 2014 salute creativity.

Thank you Jen for allowing me to share my story and my passion.

Hello to you Heather and thanks for sharing...I loved doing the piece on Jennifer Lanne for the new issue...cannot wait to work on more for you!

I'm a Romantic!

I am completely honored that the editors of Romantic Homes (thanks Meryl and Jacqueline!!)
invited me to submit for their annual
"Romantics Issue" where they feature women entrepreneurs...designers...artists...adventurers...
who epitomize the "romantic lifestyle"
so appreciated by their readers...
This arrived in the mailbox yesterday...
What I wrote comes from my heart and I hope you will seek out the issue to share it...

"As a romantic, I find beauty in the color and texture of everyday life.  I then work to share what I see with an enthusiasm that’s infectious.  It’s a choice to see the possibility of each day…perhaps it comes from a willingness to believe in serendipity and all the meanderings of imagination."

....a whole lot more and then...

"In business I cannot help but share my passion for handmade. Something that comes from the hands, comes from the heart; I have built my business sharing the talents of other romantic and inspiring women who create the most beautiful folk art.
Everyday, I make time for beauty. I look for the lovely and let it feed my soul."

In the spread you'll see me, and what makes me tick, and I love that some of my fave artists are included in the images too...Jill Schwartz, Juile Arkell, Letty Worley, Lisa Leonard,
Jennifer Lanne and Karin byDesign.
This new issue is a true delight...so many great women included...so many heartfelt ideas
and notions to warm winter and roll us toward Valentine's Day...

Thanks again to those that made this feature possible. I am thrilled.
