Lovely Lineup = FAB FAIR!

We are just back from The Country Living Fair in Columbus...once again it was an event we will long remember. It was amazing, exhausting, uplifting, tiring, elating, inspiring and more... thanks to the lineup of talented Art Girls who laughed and bonded their way through 3 days, 35,000 customers, and sweltering 95 degree heat followed by a frigid 50 degree morning... It was not easy but it was utterly FABULOUS!

The pics tell a thousand tales...here's post one on the line-up...I will post on our tent and the art and artists that filled it with energy and joy soon...stay tuned!

AND HERE THEY ARE!!

Valerie Weberpal of Harvest Moon struts with her soft sculpture creations...

Here's altered art designer and poet Cheryl Kuhn with her works...

Amy Barickman of Indygo Junction joined us to promote her new book...(Stay tuned for more info on that!)

Jody Battaglia strolling with her wonderful heirloom toys...

Painter Jennifer Lanne jumping for joy and with oodles of style too...

Here's designer Krys Kirkpatrick of Bunnies by the Bay and Hutch Studio fame with her new watercolors...she gets the "most adventurous" award attending the Fair on just a few days notice...

Laurie Meseroll waltzes with one of her mixed-media Mud-Cakes...

Here's Leslie McCabe Textile Artist with one of her exceptionally wrought hooked pillows...

Sauntering Letty Worley creator of Letty's Bears with one of her heirloom teddy purses...

Here's Earth Angels newcomer Melody Doyel of Melody Elizabeth Designs sporting her re purposed textile accessories...

This is my big sister Roseanna Mihalick, Textile Expert and Fair Presenter -- we celebrated her 59th Birthday at the event too...

A BIG thanks to all who made it possible...the folks at Country Living, the folks at Stella Show Management, the wonderful customers who come each year to see us, and of course the artist themselves along with my Earth Angels staff Michelle and Sue...

NOW there are 3 weeks to recover and we are onto Atlanta for the FIRST EVER Country Living Fair SOUTH...Details on the SHOW SITE

I sure do hope you can make it out to Stone Mountain near Atlanta on 10/22-24 to catch the Art Girls' RoadShow...this is my mode of transport at the events...silly me

ciao for now

The Secret Lab

Many of you know my Earth Angels workspace -- aka "The Secret Lab" -- from issue #1 of Where Women Create and the 12 page feature on the second storey studio/office/storage hub for the business...

Well, it's a true working space so it has been through quite a lot in the 2 years since that piece came out...many events, innumerable re-organizations, turnover of inventory, art and treasures.... and well some very, did I say messy, messy days. But, thanks to a good dose of fall cleaning frenzy, we've got the space ready for some pictures and we wanted to share them with you...

Here are some overall images of the space that might look familiar from the article, but all the contents are different since things sell all the time...

The stairs are my "guest book"; more names are added with each new round of visitors....

I love this window and keep it laden with old frames and light colored treasures...

Here is a pile of loot waiting to get sorted and tucked into the "rumpus room" we are building in the house...yeah, that's a chicken coop and well it might just become a bookcase...and I am a bad girl and tend to hoard furniture and props for "you never know when you might need it"...besides we are always working on some remodeling project or another (I am already storing stuff for the tba "powder room" over-haul!)

I adore Kitty's work and I might be able to sit in this corner all day musing over her creations...

Here are my fave shots...

And here are some more close-ups of some favorite goodies...

So there you have it, but get a quick glimpse while it is tidy...when we come home from Atlanta and The Country Living Fair the space is sure to get messy mighty quick as we sort and unpack art and treasures...

Thanks Oliver...it was fun and wow, did it need to be done!
Thanks for operation clean sweep, you are the best...

A hand-forged effort...

Jennifer Lanne and her hubby Dick have just self-published their first annual book. This sweet tome documents their collaborative efforts to marry each of their artistic pursuits...Dick from his forge in the barnyard of their 1780s home,
Jennifer from her paints in her nearby studio.

Only 50 copies of this leather bound hand-appointed edition will be printed…each will be autographed and hand numbered. It's a a very special gift to give or treasure in your own library. (...this book is $58 and will also available -- not pictured -- is a soft bound version for $24).

...here's the leather-bound limited edition above...

...and here below are some of their collaborative artworks...my faves are the landscapes and the florals that seem to grow right out of the metal...

The Lannes are a wonderfully interesting and talented couple, and I love that they are working together to make art that is so very much their own story...

Stay tuned for more on these mixed media pieces...
