Martha says, "Ashley Takes the Cake!"

Martha Stewart and her magazine have long been fans and followers of Ashley Carter's exquisite wedding designs and decorative follies...

The current issue -- Spring 2009 -- of "Martha Stewart Weddings" showcases the best-of-the-best in the realm of cake toppers, and look who takes the cake...

...yes indeed, Ashley...with her wonderful "1920s Wedding Topper Wish Box...

...look at this happy couple...

The heirloom topper doubles as a keepsake box. It stands about 15" tall with cotton batting birds aflight, millinery flowers abounding and glass glitter adorning...it's listed in the magazine at $275, but on the Earth Angels site, we have it posted at $250.

Similar in feel, and smaller in price are her "Petite Wedding Nests"...these beauties are about 6" tall and offered by Earth Angels at $64...

What a beautiful way to top a cake, remember an anniversay, or make a special shower or wedding even more memorable...

Ashley, you and your designs are luxe deluxe. Congrats on this fabulous editorial coverage! I do love your work!

Welcome Diana!

There’s a new artist at Earth Angels… WELCOME to PAINTER DIANA CARD.
It’s been two years! I have been waiting and hoping that Diana would allow me to sell her work, so this is such a proud and happy day for me! I am utterly thrilled to welcome Diana into the group of artists that I represent. I want to offer my thanks and appreciation to Diana for this wonderful opportunity to work with her, not only as a friend, but from a true respect for her talent.

Diana has painted all her life. She says, “My paintings are really stories told using color and brush instead of words and pen. They begin with real places and people and then my imagination runs free. Trees. Fields. Farms. Lighthouses. The ocean. These are the things I have always loved to paint...and the stories of the people and animals that inhabit such places.”

She’s owned two galleries, two shops and now lives on a farm in New Jersey where she paints scenes that celebrate the beauty in everyday life.

As some of you know, Diana is Mom to another Earth Angels artist, painter Deirdre Friebely....and I am so very proud to work with this talented duo!

Here is the artist at work in the barn where both mother and daughter paint...

Just look at these wonderful scenes she's created oh, so laden with story...

I adore what she captures...Diana works deftly on booth board and canvas in her fabulous and well-recognized style. She paints in acrylics with an oil glaze.

E-mail me to be advised of more arrivals from Diana’s studio and watch for her work at our event this weekend. Again, thanks Diana for the wonderful art and friendship!

Happy Day to all My Gals

Women are amazing creatures. They give life, then cultivate it. They seek friendships, then care for them until they run deep and true. They create, and then care for and curate the beauty in our surrounds. They nurture, they cajole, and they conjure love from the mystic.

So here's to all the wonderful women in my life...and all they create...from art and friendships to a mean chicken dish and the tea they pour over conversations and cookies immemorial.

And yes, it is Mother's Day...So my most heartfelt wishes to all the Mom's out there to enjoy it.

But many of my friends are not Moms. Some never had the chance and others chose not to...so let's also say...
Happy Women's Day....

And no matter the day, in all those that have passed, and all those yet to be I will say to myself and my girlfriends with a breathy sigh, "I am so glad I am a female!"

Here's to little girls and daydreams...here's to Moms and their deepest hopes for their children...and here's to girl power and the g-spot for art in our souls!

Charlotte's Tea Room!

WOW! and congrats to my sister-in-law Joanne. She has recently moved her tea room to a glorious new location. Just a scone's throw up Oakland Avenue from her former shop, this new space is divine. Just look at the layout and style of the space...

There are three themed rooms...here's the "Garden Room"...

And my favorite, "The Library"...oh it's so "Clue-esque!", where are Colonel Mustard and Professor Plum???

And here is the "Blue Willow Room". Joanne has collected Blue Willow china for more than 30 years and it served as the inspiration for this room. So elegant...

If you've gotten your postcard and seen the e-mails, you know that Charlotte's Tea Room will serve as the location for our upcoming event!

I cannot wait to see tents full of artwork dot the lawn when we host our "8th Annual Spring Fling" on the grounds in just two weeks.

We hope you can join us on 5/16 & 17 for the event -- it's free and open to the public. And perhaps you'll be able to enjoy the wonderful ambiance and food that Charlotte's Tea Room offers as well!

Space is still available at the Supepr with JO PACKHAM - Saturday, 5/16 at 6pm and the BREAKFAST with Debbee THIBAULT - Sunday, 5/17 at 10am. Reservations are required for these breakout events, so please emial or call me 8-8 NY time (845) 986-8720 to reserve your seat.

THANKS to you Joanne for the wonderful opportunity to work together to produce our upcoming event. The setting is divine and I cannot wait to share it with Earth Angels' artists and enthusuatsts!

See you there... and please put the kettle on for a large pot of tea, Jody and Pat will be wanting some...as for me...I am planning on lemonade on the porch...

Yum...

Lovely Treat from Nicol

I can always count on Nicol Sayre for a lovely treat. Here's her display at the "Tour de Art" event we hosted at Paris to the Moon last month. Truly, everything she creates charms me...

Just look at the face on this doll...so dear...

...and yes, she is available.

Also available are Nicol's first set of keepsake postcards...

The lovely set are to send and share or keep as treasures. Each card is 4x6 and features one of Nicol’s most favorite dolls. The back is as sweet as the front with sepia-toned paper, emblazoned with archival fonts and Nicol’s own Spencerian flourishes. Nicol says there will be more sets to come...this is set #1. The set of 4cards is $12. Call or email to order.

Thanks Nicol for these wonderful new goodies.
