PRIMS & Papier Mache...love her style...

...I adore everything that comes from the hands of my talented friend Julie Arkell. She has a singular perception of texture that deserves certain celebration. She marries fabric, thread and paper and -- with her inimitable style -- creates a wonderful array of pieces, creatures and wearables that are treasures.

 

So it's wonderful to share the news that not only has she been featured in the newest issue of PRIMS magazine, but that we have new work to share from Julie...

I am totally thrilled for my friend, Earth Angels' artist Letty Worley...

I love that talented girl! It is so uber cool to see her oh so artful, and one of a kind heirloom soft-sculpture creations and purses among the pages of the current PRIMS....

WAY TO GO LETTY!!

It was a true treat to work on this piece with Letty and PRIMS editor-in-chief,  Jenn Jackson; it;s great to see her get some week deserved attention for her fab work among the pages of such a great nationally circulated art magazine....

Like the article illustrates, her work is fresh, something familiar in its use of vintage oddities and glories but totally unexpected in her charming interpretations....

This one is called "Moonlight on Wool"... love her names for her pieces too!

Nancy and her hubby Bill traveled 11 hours from Ohio to meet Jennifer and shop for her art in person....they left with "Happiness Blooms"...

Brush & Paint...WOO HOO Diana...and a sale treat...

Loving Diana Card's work is an easy thing to do...

She says her paintings are stories told with paint and brush, and sweet stories they are...

In the new issue, PRIMS celebrates Diana's style and shares her personal journey as a painter.

 It was a treat to do this piece on Diana...she deserves the attention!

 Here is one of my fave themes she visits...cats on the prowl under a moonlit sky...

 So many tiny details...some of her brushes are just a few strand thick...these cats are about an inch wide!

 I love how she does the title on the side...

 I also adore her garden pieces...

Jody Battaglia of Beary Best Friends creates a colorful array of wonderful teds, dolls and soft sculpture characters so very reminiscent of old toys. Each has a fantastic personality that springs from Jody’s well-tuned imagination and the stories she’s created for a toyland realm she’s named “Fun Town”. Her work is incredible detailed and wrought with skill from wool, cotton, mohair and velveteen. Amazingly festive and utterly charming, I have loved and

collected her work personally since 1996.
