...hip hip hooray...we are getting ready for the patriotic festivities we host...

our annual Family & Friends Reunion is this weekend -- more on that soon!  

(and yes, yes...I love all of Laurie's flags...)

A trip to this fab rescue center...

And we came home with Finn McPurr...

We tried to get to the drive in but it's been raining in the evenings...

Target has the most amazing stuff, at present I want ALL THEIR HANGING SIGNS, each of which sports a summer theme...

 With animals on my mind, this lamp tempted me to feed my lamp fetish....I resisted...

You really can have a ball at Target...

Aidan styles a pillow, I really don't get the moustache thing by the way...

Rosie rocked these 6" heels...speaking of fetishes and issues...

My 81 year old mother insists on wearing heels everyday...Charlotte tried some on for size too...

A new little vegetarian juice bar opened on McEwen Street...

...so we gave it a try...

 

...so loving these wee purses by Melody... 

more soon...our cousins are here so we are off to enjoy them...

Laurie and the Secret Lab

......having the chance to watch an artist work always amazes me.

When talent moves from mind to hand through paint something really wonderful can happen.

Laurie Meseroll came to work in the Earth Angels "Secret Lab" to complete a group of mixed-media "Mud-Cakes" paintings...As ever, it is work we are both so very proud to showcase here at Earth Angels...

Here is something small and sweet in work....

And then completed...

And here they are finished after several days and many layers of her various mediums...

I just loved watching her create, building story through color and texture as she worked...

And here are some more of the finished pieces...it's amazing how they move in color and form as Laurie adds layers...most of her peices have at least 15 layers, some much more...these are  some of my faves from her new collection....and more can be seen on the site....

...i love this one called "Mobile Abode" 

And this one is like none other and hosted in an antique frame... 

And of course, I adore her landscapes...

...and her florals too...

A whirlwind of a week with the end of school and the start of summer...

How fitting that I am posting my Friday post on Saturday morning, I feel like the world is on "slow motion" and I am on "fast forward" but want to be on "play"......

CONGRATS to all the Park Ave kids "moving up" to Middle School...

We hit a BBQ joint, but the kids were there for the pinball...

...ohhh fave new thing on the planet...thanks Hayley for the intro to "White Chocolate Seltzer"...

...these flowers are growing like weeks in my veggie garden...anyone know what they are called???

I have enough un-read magazines to read one a day until the end of the year...

and yet they keep coming...and I love them ALL...

And I just keep looking at this piece called "Clouds Fly By"...

hoping for long, slow and sweet summer days...
