#29 and summer is melting...

...the summer feels as if it is melting away. Is it really the end of July?!

Hope you've been savoring some small summery moments and sneaking in some fun...

Linking up wiht the gals at Life Rearranged to share a peek at the week...it's been another busy work week, but we snuck in some fun kid stuff and a jaunt to Hudson with Ro to celebrate her 50th...HAPPY BIRTHDAY RO!!!

Laurie rolled in from Michigan on Monday and has been painting all week with lots of cheerleaders...here Rory shows a fave in work...

I love to watch an artist work...

This cardboard clock was in the window of a gallery in Hudson, NY....

We had Chinese take out...and Alayna got the best fortune ever...how fitting for a house guest at our home!!!

Talented Alayna Tillis -- you may recognize her from the piece on her in last years's "Where Women Cook" -- has been here doing a photography internship...we had to shoot the Secret Lab for two upcoming magazine pieces....

And I love this sign in my fave ice cream parlor... LICK again...in HUDSON!!

I was thrilled to see Charlotte's room in "Flea Market Decor".

It was a total treat to work withe the editors on this...

We love the old and the handmade...this dolly sits on Charlotte's window seat most days.

I had a lot of kid help this week...with boxes...

And with inventory...

...but NOT with phones...

Had to share this non cell phone image...we are getting that lab all set!!!

We are re-photographing EVERY SINGLE piece of inventory for the new site...ugh and wonderful at the same time...

Me and Ro had a fab trip to Hudson...her we visited Ida and Jackie, a fab mom and daughter antiquing duo and proprietors of Ida's Eye on Warren Street...a must see if you are in Hudson...

My new fave Hotcakes...they are tough for me to resist.

peek at the week #28

Linking up via Life Rearranged to share a peek at my week...and what a week of work it was....

So this other camera of mine has earned it's keep this week...

(this blog post uses only cell phone images -- I have an iPhone 4)

The Website will be re-launched soon... and well, each and every piece of art and handmade here at Earth Angels needs to be RE-PHOTOGRAPHED...yikes...that means pulling it from the secret lab, styling it and shooting 3-6 images of each piece because on the new site we'll have the capacity to share oodles of images for each offering...Yes, great but wow a lot of work...

We're talking seriously like 6,000 images...

Here are some of my fave moments from all this photographing...gotta love Caramia's Hotcakes...

Someone went into business thus week...$1 and drink all day...he had a few customers who live here, and a few who work here...we don't live on a busy block...but fortunately we have a busy house...

We have 3 kitties...Balckie is outside only...and she comes and goes...little Finn is here asleep while I am at my desk working...Bib our dear, dear big old fat cat is likely sleeping somewhere else or standing guard over her food...

We have someone back from Boy Scout Camp eager to show off his skills, it's been a fire pit - S'mores kinda week...

There are Jennifer Murphy Bears in the house!! Woo hoo and see the site for oodles of them...

Meet "Marguerite" the oldest of my dress forms...she does a lot of hard work modeling for Earth Angels jewelry artists...

Some of my wonderful nieces and nephews at a family gathering...

Shoes on the lawn during a party...their owners are playing touch football...

This was a porch kind of week...if you ever wondered where we shoot all the images for the site, yep the porch...it's great filtered light, northern exposure...and I can do photos and watch the kids in the yard...Here my Mom, Rosie visits with the kids...we have a ton of re-photographing to do for the new website we'll be relaunching in early September...stay tuned on that!

Here's Alayna....she's doing an internship here at Earth Angels...a lot of boxes...a lot of photos...a lot of great help and a LOT of learning...

Trader Joe's...my fave...our fave...love the free lollies if you find the Gorilla in the Hawaiian shirt...ours is 40 minutes away but worth the trip to stock up or we hit it on the way home from the City...

Working on a new ad for the upcoming issues of "Romantic Country" and "Romantic Homes"...I love this shot...can you spot the 3 artists it features...

And here are some other images at the goodies we'll feature in the ads...

We'll be using an image of Debbee's work in the ads too...gotta love the colors...

More soon and have a super week...next week we'll be shooting the lab for two magazines... FOLK and "Where Women Create: BUSINESS" so I'll be sharing a rare peek at my workspace...

Insta Friday 27...!!!...???

A name carved in cement "For Grandma"...

on the steps outside my Grandma's summer place...she died in 1984 and I still miss her...

see things and memories fade, but they never really go away...

A quick run to the Upper West Side to visit with our friends in from Oakland, CA...we hit the The Museum of Natural History...

Digging the dinos --but YES, Tam we need to come back and see you and the bugs!!!

I was Yarn Bombed...thanks Michelle for the wonderful gift...

Here's Chatham, he's a PA dog that was shot when he was mistaken for a Coyote...

Char was given him lots of love...

Want to make a lot of friends in New York City??? ... dog friends that is... Hit the east side of the Great Lawn in Central Park between 8 and 9:15 each weekday...it's dog city...

Another dog shot...not sure what was up with all the pooch activity this week...here my cousin Dorian matches her sister's dog Finn

(yep, we have a cat name Finley -- aka Finn -- seems the name is on the rise!)

In the living room of the house my Uncle Joe built...we gathered to celebrate his 88th birthday...

Kathy says that ladder could reach right to heaven... many high hopes for all that gathered....

Some folks were feeling theatrical...

Simple and sweet, a crop of Mud-Cakes trees...

I am so glad I don't live on the moon...

...pennies down this well...and wishes to all for a good week...

Insta-Friday and a peek at week #26

It's time to take a peek at the week -#26 means I've been at this for 6 months...

it's been a great way for me to capture a bit of the week in a few cell phone shots and share them...

I think it's really a good week when you can ride a carousel...their my fave and really, the only reason I take my kids to the mall -- at a buck a ride it's the best bargain around...
