It's in the Bag Baby

Yeah...it's functional art, it's sculpture, it's all in the bag...
I am smitten with purses, always have been, and it's likely I always will be. I was the toddler stylin' with the bunny purse tucked into the crook of my elbow all stuffed with a kiddie lip gloss, a hankie and tiny toys.

When it was time for me to walk down the aisle at age 4 as a flower girl I assumed I would, of course carry a matching purse and gloves; I was distraught with the basket of flowers and the evident fashion faux pas. It's pretty much the same these days...a purse can set my mood, enable me to be armed for the day, or entertain my inner girl child.

But, I have never been in love with the famous name brands, instead the wonderful fetchingly stitched one of a kind handmade beauties captivate me...And so yet again, I am facing "purse envy" and utter temptation...

Melody Elizabeth has cooked up a new batch of bags from re-purposed textiles and trims...leather, needlepoint, bling and more...I love the birds and blooms and berries too...

Prices on Melody's bags start at $78...each is a one of a kind and this series features birds and berries...with the splash of a floral here and there.

And Cheryl Kuhn of "small stories studio" has turned to the needle, creating wee bags of vintage textiles and old tin types. They are perfect for cell phones or itty items to wear cross-body or even around the neck...as well as a few hip and chic flap-style bags...

...prices on these bags from Cheryl range from $40-$55.(I will be using one of these for essentials on my next biz trip to The Creative Connection Event.

Thanks gals for these treats...we'll be emailing details on them soon to those of you on our email last, and posting to the site...

In the meantime, which purse shall I ever use today?
