Hello Monday...well, Tuesday really! It's a new week and I am ready for you! You've got me thinking alot about time already...
How much we have of it, how we use it, and what happens when a lot of it is accumulated within a place and space...
I've been under deadline writing a piece for Ben Ashby and his FOLK magazine on New York City.
It took me 44 years to write it...Well, not quite, but I've loved New York for my 44 years and I had to get that whole love affair -- AND
the City's almost 400 years of history -- into 1,800 words. Tough
stuff, but I loved every minute of working on the piece. It's clear; I
am utterly dedicated to my hometown and loved the chance to recall my
childhood there.
I am caught up in thinking about all the people that have passed through, those who have just caught trains, those who have missed trains, those who are running for them now....distracted by the turquoise sky of a ceiling that's lit with the constellations...
so hello to using the time we have as wisely as we can
hello to good memories
hello to old things
hello grand spaces and places that have stood the tests of time
hello to embracing where you've come and appreciating where you are at any moment
hello week...hope it's a good one for all.
