Hello new week, there's a pile of paperwork here, writing deadlines, projects to finish and all I want to do is bake and nest.
It's the time of year I want to feather my nest, move things around in our home and in general just refresh the indoors.
...sigh...
But, it's chilly and dreary and there's time you just need a little something sweet to get you through your week...
So hello to "pie*ography" and a whole lotta sweet.
Hello to Jo Packham brilliant concept of "pie" meets "biography"...I love this lady and how her brain works. Her newest book is an utter treat...and I loved working with her on it...
(Last March I blogged about this special project and new book ...well it's all cooked up and on the shelves...)
So hello to getting things done! And done the way that feels right to me...
Hello to to some shots from our "Iron Skillet Banana Pie" shoot on another chilly day last winter when the work on the book started...you take 10 pics to get the one that's "right" to print, but I loved them all...
Hello to enjoying the little things that get me through my week. And trusting my own taste when it comes to what I like...
Hello to looking at things a little differently this year. It's only mid-January, but I already feel I am working smarter on some projects, I tend to work a lot, all the time, and I have to be better about taking time out -- so far - so good!
Hello to me...This was the image they wanted to use in the book....
But I asked Jo to use this instead! So hello to being real, and real fun...
Hello to good friends and working on projects together to make them happen...this week it's all hands on deck - we're calling in the troops to get the Vintage section of the website in gear (Oliver this means you!)
Hello Krys and Debbee and Katie and Nancy and Michele too...I love that you've been included among the 40 women in the book...each listing has a 2 page story of the pie and the person and how the pie is the biography....so cool.
Hello to new ideas...new recipes and new projects too...
...I am making Krys' carrot pie today...
Hello to knowing what you love and doing it, in life, in work and yes, in the kitchen too.
...hello bedtime reading, one of my favorite times of the day...
From the first page, it's delish.
Hello to you week, I'm going to make the most of you...
What are you all up to this week? Hope it's full of some sweet moments, good books and good eats too...
xxoo Jen
...Where Pie Meets Biography....authored
by Jo Packham, pie*ography is a new design for story telling. It's all
about using ingredients to tell the story of someone's life and to share
it not only with sight, but also with the taste and smell as well.
Savory and hearty, simple and sweet, or messy and gooey, these pages
tell women's stories through more than just words. This fab book
features Earth Angels' founder & owner Jen O'Connor, as well as the
"pies" of 41 other Extraordinary Women including Earth Angels' artists
Krys Kirkpatrick and Debbee Thibault and special friends Katie Camarro
and Michele Muska among others. Hardcover, full color and 175 pages.

Well now I'm hungry!
Mmmm...looks yummy. I like to bake this time of the year too, but then I regret it comes April. Spring turns into diet time for me. ;-)
Congrats to having your photo used!
