young fan + HUGE talent = Colton!!!

Colton Ackerman is a talented young man...it has been a honor to watch him grow, and his talent blossom...just look at his exquisite mixed media creation....

Here he is with his amazing grandma Joanne...we love them both and their visit to our tent at the Fair in Columbus is and has been a highlight for all of us since that first year we attended...

Here is a write up I asked Colton to prepare as my guest blooger...GO COLTON!

Bestowed with the title of the Earth Angels’ youngest collector, Colton Ackerman is an artist who can’t get enough of the group’s spunky spirit and inspiring creations.

"I was attending the Country Living fair about four years ago, in search of a particular artist I favored, and unfortunately, my search was unsuccessful. After reluctantly telling me that this artist was no longer participating in the fair, Jen O’ Connor took me under her wing and introduced my to the wonderful world of Earth Angels. I became enthralled with the works of each artist and the bond that they shared within the group. Jen wasted no time in getting me acquainted with the work of many of the artists; and I became especially attached to the soft sculpture of Jody Battaglia. We became fast friends, and I continue to admire and collect her work with fervor to this day. I have lately begun to branch out and collect work from other artists with the group, and I’ve always jokingly said that if I were given the finances, I would most likely buy the whole Earth Angels tent!

"As an artist, the relationships with other creative souls are imperative, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have such a wonderful circle of friends. I believe that I relate with this group so well because of its overall appreciation for an old fashioned and unique esthetic. My work also draws heavily from past influences and imagery, so I am constantly inspired by their devotion to antiquity. I am currently a junior at the Columbus College of Art and Design, where I am majoring in illustration, and minoring in both fine arts and design history. I employ drawing and collage, as well as paper cutting in my work. I have only recently begun to explore the world of dimensional art, and I am really enjoying it! I am very much influenced by Art Nouveau, the Victorian period, and the artwork of the 1950’s, as well as modern pop surrealism."

I am thrilled to be a guest artist on this blog, and I would like to thank Jen, as well as all of the Earth Angels artists for the opportunity to share my work with you!”

Colton...I am YOUR fan...

keep me and all of your Earth Angels fans up to date on your work...we are already looking forward to seeing you next year and give Joanne our love too...

xxoo Jen
