Donya's "Metal Monk"

We met Donya O'Brien of "Metal Monk" at the New York Gift Fair and spending time with her was a highlight of the show. She is a trip; with a personality and style as sassy and sparkly as her festive and funky jewelry designs...

Working completely by hand in her Long Island, NY studio, the native New Englander creates fanciful necklaces and earrings from recycled findings and fabrics that are oh so retro, yet, utterly fresh in their form...You may recognize her signature work from her offerings at "Anthropologie"....



We are so pleased to now be able to offer her work through Earth Angels...necklaces and earrings alike are wonderful(prices range from $24 - $90). Each necklace is made with great care and style to incorporate vintage findings, notions and repurposed textiles. Old beads and more create designs that are truly wearable art...






And these earrings...adore them...each is like a sweet little nugget of candy, named for evocative places and styles...totally yummy... (about .75" across and $24)...the designs are done in very limited quantities since they are made with vintage findings...
