So yes, it was my birthday. And I was not going to do anything special to celebrate. So unlike me. Then Jill called and Kitty emailed. They would be down and we were, "GOING TO HAVE SOME FUN!"
They saved me from myself (this means they made me turn off the phone and computer for a while), made me play, and helped me -- in the best of company -- to consume vast amounts of calories, carbs and most significantly chocolate.
A dreary Friday with too much on the "to do" list turned around!
Here's the party on our way into Charlotte's Tea Room.
This was a 5 story tall Seuss-style chocolate cake. We licked the plates. The camera were flashing, but the forks were faster...thanks Joanne for the fabulous lunch and colossal confection!
Thanks to my great friends Jill and Kitty for celebrating me with a sweet and simple gathering.
And thanks too, to all of my fabulous gal pals who called, emailed and sent cards goodies. I am spoiled for sure, and consider myself wealthy in my friends.
xxoo and yes Mrs. Calabash, where ever you are, 39 is the real #

I'm glad the girls took you away for some fun. It's the way birthday should be spent.
