Holiday Harvest on the Farm

I like to think I know a good party...and every so often I get to go to one that takes the cake, tops my expectations and leaves me thinking about the hours spent in good cheer for many years to come...

This Saturday I ventured to Ballston Spa to take in the festivities at Jennifer Lanne's home and studio....Absolutely incredible! I am already looking forward to next year...and to those of you that missed it, mark your calendar NOW!

Every display was adorned with evergreens...

Art was everywhere!

The landscape in the foreground is now in my dining room!

These gourmet goodies were made by Dick's sister...and worth every calorie! The homemade peanut butter cups were heaven.

Yummy florals tempted me, I brought home a 12x12 called
"Caramel & Roses"...two of my favorite things...the name got me!

These gals were some of my favorite partygoers...I sure hope they'll make the trip to Warwick for the "heART of Winter" in February...

Dusk falls...

Olive and Violet live next to the forge shed, these gals are the gargantuan and gorgeous mascots of the farm...

Donning dressy lights in the barn turned movie theater (complete with hay bale seats and a trough of popcorn) the 1940s tractor that once belonged to Dick's Uncle Michael sheds a festive glow on the scene...

Dick maintains the farm's forge...does anyone recognize the sign from "Lonesome Dove"? Dick instantly bonded with my hubby on our last visit, Micah recognized Gus' sign...

Here's Wendy and her hubby...we met at the forge...she reads this blog...Hi Wendy! You should have brought home that horse painting!

Guests bid Olive and Violet goodnight...and head to the house to warm up with homemade squash bisque and hot mulled cider...

In the next post I will take you all on a tour of the 1760s farmhouse decorated for the season...

Until then...I am off to decorate and make merry.
Thanks to my hosts Jennifer and Dick!
Your party awakened the spirit of the season...

xxoo Jen

Jen it sounds like you had a fabulous time. I love all the paintings... I especially adore the strawberry basket with the white dove you have pictured in front of the painting you now own. Strawberries are my favorite fruit with blueberries being my second favorite.

Hugs,

Theresa

I can't thank you enough for being part of the festivities ...as well as braving the frigid temps! I have fond memories of friends and fun from the evening...thanks to all!

As I am waiting to head off to be screened for jury duty,(how exciting, yes?} my heart is soring with your experience at that incredible Jennifer Lanne's venue. I am entranced. I laughed at the decorated tractor! I love ALL of that marvelous art. What a joy. I am so happy that you share so much with everyone.
