Friends Don't Let Friends Buy Chairs...

Yes, this is me with what I bought at The Creative Connection...clearly, this did not fit in my luggage. I knew I had a lamp issue; indeed friends have taken note of the obsession with said lamps, and made me persona non grata at "Home Goods" and the lighting department of various and sundry locales....

But, not another "issue", obsession etc? And I cetainly didn't know this latent chair issue would strike while I was in Minneapolis with a 1,200 mile airplane ride between me and the room that I NEED the chair in...

Sigh, that's what UPS is for you say...

These friends were NO help...here's Julia trying to get me to buy this chair, TOO...

And Nicole, showing me the merits of worn rose colored velvet and bark cloth...ahhh next time.

But really, I think it was the chairs themselves, each a repurposed item that simply seethed charm and funk. These fetching chairs are designs by Sandy Stone...if you can't buy a chair, fit one in your luggage, or have one shipped...buy her uber cool book and learn how to repurpose textiles and fab furniture yourself...

I am off to pine for the UPS man who has promised to deliver my chair soon...and attention Miss Blogworthy aka Jane Dagmi, I think this is all your fault! Jane has a fabulous way of celebrating the artful and has called the attention of many (myself included) to Sandy's style and savvy in her own work celebrating great design.

xxoo and off I go

Jen, dearest, I have never known ANYONE who could keep you from doing what you wanted, including the President of NYU. And you don't make bad decisions, so I can only assume you and that chair were meant to be. xxoo
