The gals and I stopped in to visit Earth Angels' jewelry artist Caramia Visick at her new, 2-storey shop and studio at 2420 Polk Street in San Francisco (just off Lombard near Van Ness - if you know the town). There, she makes and sells her "Hotcakes" jewelry designs. It was better than any candy store!
Her pieces capture wonderful images -- many of them vintage -- and catapult them into fresh designs in both chunky resin and delicate sterling forms....
Inspired by fantastic plastic jewelry of yesterday, Caramia hunted through my arm-load of bangles for color ideas for next season...we talked greens and blues...and named her newest Fall 2008 color "cordovan"...a delish ruddy brown with a chocolate-colored wash that reminds me of my favorite penny loafers circa 1985...
Earth Angels' order of her latest creations will arrive in 2 weeks... so watch the site and your in-box for images if you are on our mailing list...

...here are gal pals extraordinaire, artists Nicky, Laurie and Magda...I love our annual trip to CA. Yes, we do mix business with pleasure -- we were in California for "Halloween & Vine" -- but we always seems to squeeze in a few shopping and dining adventures including our pilgrimage to "In - N - Out"!
From our stop into "Favor" we ventured -- at Bonnie and Loren's suggestion -- to "DAISO"...the Japanese $1.50 store in Daly City. Always on the hunt for style and whimsy these gals are in the know and the best in tow...and show!
Thanks Caramia for our festive visit to your fabulous new venue...and I cannot wait to get that box of new creations you've promised...
