Mermaids, Magic and Fairies' wings

Artists are divine; their art ads a slice of ethereal wonder to my every day. They are blessings, a wee bit of heaven on Earth....and like Debrina Pratt, their art draws our attention to the magic around us.

She captures magic in vintage bottles, concocts fairy love potions and sweet dreams serum. She shows us mermaids riding atop sea birds, fairies at tea with cupcakes, and sea sprites in party hats. She surely knows the magic that every little girl wields in her play and somehow, harnesses this realm.

I adore her fairies that peer at us from old bottles and tiny shadowboxes. They herald their stories atop petite wooden blocks, and adorn pendants and charms with a glorious style. While Debrina's creations have the lustrous patina of age, they are completely fresh in their bright interpretations.

Debrina uses old photos, altering art and adding millinery flowers, tiny beaded flourishes, Swarovski crystals and wee bits of magic to tell her tales. With a fanciful dose of imagination, her bon bon-like confections beg our appreciation for a gentle and tiny world, filled with sweet sentiments. She has captured not only fairies galore, but the age of innocence, the belief in the mystical, and the rim of magic that surrounds fantasy. Here are some of my current faves...

Email us to be notified of new arrivals from Debrina's studio....A new batch of sea-inspired creations has just arrived and includes some of the wonders pictured above...And...a heartfelt thanks to Debrina for enabling us to offer her captivating work through our gallery on such an exclusive basis.

Sending you lots of love Debrina, I miss you...

I love Debrina Pratt!! Her fairies are so sweet, and I love that little bird and cat that frequently show up to play with the fairies. Her color scheme is so wonderful and the little bit of sparkle and bling make it all shine.

I too know Debrinas work from ebay. Fantastic to find it here because I am always forgetting about the auction~~ please add me to the list! Jen, your story of Char-lotti reminds me of my own Mothers wonderful imagination. One Christmas season I was being naughty not wanting to take my bath because I didn't want to miss Rudolph! She convinced me to leave a letter for Santa in the metal mailbox that hung on our porch and he would write me back pronto. She sent me up to take my evening bath and just like magic a letter was awaiting me when I came back down stairs! I questioned the handwriting not to mention the speed of delivery but she assured my curiosity by turning on the porch lights to authenticate his visit. There before me were the tracks his sleigh left in the snow along with reindeer prints. I believe. I believe.A memory I will never forget. cheers, Sandi

Little bits of fairy delights. I love fairies especially those of the victorian era. I love the way your artists create a story within their creations, they transport you to another world.

And, aren't you and your children lucky to have a mailbox expressly for your communications from the Fairies!

When I was a child (I'm 51 now) my mom told me their were fairies in the alley by our house. I never doubted, my mom always told the truth. Thanks for reminding me of a magical childhood.
