Hello to working with friends...hard sometimes...but most times, 
it just brings the sweetest of rewards.  
   
Our gatherings are such an effort, each a true group project. And it never ceases to amaze me that -- despite all the work -- we truly love them, and having the time together....

...and a thanks to our special Earth Angels' friend, Jane Dagmi for making her annual jaunt to Sanford for her annual visit with the Angels....she always brings us good cheer and a good dose of inspiration!

And thanks too go to Sophia Brake for her help at the event!

...and hello to Julia...she gets our LONG DISTANCE AWARD...making the trip from MICHIGAN!!!!

WOO HOOO and hello to The Polka Dot Club

...the idea of an heirloom toy really means something to me... 

I love that Jennifer Murphy is creating playthings that matter, 

toys that can be cuddled and treasured, 

and are all the sweeter once they've been worn in, cuddled and loved.

I know Jennifer many, many years and have watched her business -- 

along with  her talent and style -- grow and develop. 

To celebrate her journey,  I featured her in my column, 

"The Business of the Studio" in Where Women Create magazine...

She has quite a story to tell!

 Newly arrived here at Earth Angels Studios, 

are her mohair teds and toys for Spring 2015...

These cuddling rabbits and heirloom bears have a whole lotta charm going on....

and are high on the play factor, too!

 I mean, look at these faces...

 Her little floppy teds are my personal faves...

what an amazing gift for a wee one.

(all of Jennifer's Polka Dot Club creations are child safety approved)

 And Jennifer's bears have a fab sense of fashion...

like good quality toys of long ago, children had one 

most treasured doll or bear...and clothes to play with...

I feel like this bunny hat and coat are just the most darling ever...

I love that her bear making journey has led her to The Polka Dot Club...

My friend and Earth Angels' artist Julie Arkell has just released her second book..."AWAY"....a most lovely and fitting companion to her frist self-published book, "HOME"...

 

I adore everything about Julie's work. Her winsome and whimsical creatures, her love of timeworn fabrics, her sense of texture...sigh.

Where Women Cook Strikes Again!!! Love this...

 ...I just read it....cover to cover...

and need to fill you in on why the latest issue of 

Where Women Cook is so special to me.

 

I love the opportunities that come my way in this wonderfully handmade business...I have gotten to know so many talented women over the years...

and the connections among us are much like constellations we draw as the relationships overlap and move forward...

So, last summer -- kids in tow -- and on my way to stay with Nancy Wiley in Canandaigua, NY -- I stopped to photograph a vegan luncheon hosted by Shelly Kennedy of Drooz Studio....

it's in the March 2015 issue of Where Women Cook and I am just so thrilled. 

 

I have known Shelly for years through her artistry and the Art Girls' RoadShow events she's attended with her lovely Mom and daughter, Chloe. So, to be able to connect the dots of networking, friendship and food was a true treat....

 ...here's a peek at the pages...but you really need this issue for the recipes...I have already made the Beet Hummus (I left the luncheon with the recipe) and I am SMITTEN, HOOKED, ENSNARED!  Totally wonderful...

But the coconut cream was addicting too!
